Sifca® on site: cement and lime industry
Tire feeder chute
The SIFCA® tire feeder chute is primarily used to feed tires into a rotary cement kiln. SIFCA® chutes are fixed inside the kiln and rotate with it. Tires are injected at intervals into the kiln during the rotation of the kiln.
SIFCA® replaces steel alloy chutes which distort and prevent tires from being fed into the kiln. Also, alloy chutes are more susceptible to oxidation and alkali attack.
SIFCA® chutes resist heat, distortion, and chemical attack much better and are lower cost than the steel alloy chutes plus improve performance.
Preheater blaster nozzle
The front view (left) shows the working face of the SIFCA® blaster nozzle with the restricted outlet that helps prevent penetration of dust and increases the operating efficiency.
The back view (right) shows the SIFCA® blaster nozzle with the air inlet section and anchorage.
Damper
SIFCA® replaces alloy dampers that typically would only last 12 to 18 months depending on location.
Applications for reinforced stainless steel fiber castables:
- Nose rings
- Cooler curb blocks
- Cooler throat blocks
- Cooler bull nose section
- Tertiary air duct damper
- Thermocouple tube
- Gas sampling probe
- Riser pipe blaster nozzle
- Planetary cooler outlets
- Brick retainer ring
- Burner pipe
Thermocouple protection tubes
In severe applications, SIFCA® has outlasted stainless, inconel, and hastalloys by 6-10 times.
In an application that previously lasted 3 weeks, SIFCA® has lasted 6 months in a preheater section.
High abrasion and temperature are the usual modes of failure for other alloys or ceramics.
Can be used succesfully in preheater, chain section, exit transfer chute, cooler hood.
Try SIFCA® with 330 stainless steel fiber and inconel lined for best performance.
SIFCA® can replace more than just other refractories. SIFCA® can also replace heat resistant cast iron in many applications.
